Adult Vaccination Schedule

Vaccine Schedule for Adults

 

The following is the list of vaccines strongly recommended by Kopila on the basis of the US Embassy Medical Unit, Kathmandu, WHO-EPI for Nepal.  It may vary from the list recommended by the CDC, as it is based on more current and localized information. 

 

Td (tetanus and diptheria)

Every 5 - 10 years;

For adults never vaccinated: day 0, 30 and 180; (TIG 2 ml if injured)

Hepatitis B

> 20 years; series of  3 (day 0, 30 and 180) 1cc IM; (up to 19 y/o 0.5cc); no booster

Havrix (1440 El.U) * Hepatitis A

> 18 y/o: 1cc IM; series of two 6 months apart. Booster every 5 years.

JBE (Japanese Encephalitis)

Series of 3 (day 0, 7 and 14 - 30); booster every 3 years.

 

Measles/MMR

If born in or after 1957 (a second dose of measles vaccine is needed for those who don't have proof of immunity)

Meningitis A + C/ACWY

2-3 yearly 0.5 – 1 SC or IM

OPV

Booster as adult x 1; IPV series; day 0, 30 and 180. Given orally

Rabies

(Pre-immunization)

Series of 3 (day 0, 7 and 21 - 28)

Titer not needed

Rabies

(Post exposure)

Day 0 and 3 if received

Pre-immunization series. If not, day 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28 along with RIG.

Typhoid (injectable typhoid)

 0.5 ml IM,SQ every 2-3 years; > 2 years old

TB skin test

Every year; 0.1 cc ID

   

Varicella ("chicken pox")

 

 

 

0.5 ml SQ; > 13 y/o; series of 2 (day 0 and 30 - 60)

Influenza (Flu)

0.5 ml. IM, SQ every year

Pneumococcal

 

0.5ml IM,SQ; every 5 years. ( very important especially for adults above 55 yrs. of age)

Please note that you must bring Kopila Medical Record Book on every visit. In case you forget to bring the Book, we encourage you to buy a new one before consultation. Without the Book, we will be unable to provide you any service.
Kopila remains open from 7.00 AM – 6.00 PM from Monday through Saturday. 

Please note:  WE ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS.
